Filmed in Iceland and Norway.
When I can not predict the flow of a film that is usually a sign it is amazing.
I thought I knew what was happening. I thought Andreas was living in an urban purgatory where his co-workers are sickeningly polite, his girlfriends obsessed with modern furniture and his society cloaked in shades of greys.
But I was wrong.
When I thought it was the afterlife it was the beginning, when I thought it was the country it was in fact the bitter cold.
Death is not an option but pain is.
I need someone else to watch this so I may talk to them about it.
Chances are I will watch this again in the next 24hrs.
You can watch the trailer on youtube but I believe going into it fairly blind is probably a better idea. Seeing the events on the trailer will spoil the feeling of those key moments.
Here is the first 9 minutes. If you are not interested after this you will never be interested and I feel sorry for you. I really really do.
Sorry no english subtitles.
The images tell the story. The sign says "welcome". He asks the man if he put it up for him. The man says yes then apologizes for his car being old. He is taken to his new apartment. It is never explained where he came from, who he is, where he is or why he has been showed to his new place of residence.
I hope that clarifies things.
