Today I am reminding myself what comes after school:
Westfalia West Coast/ South America road trip
Step 1: Learn how to drive
Step 2: Learn how to drive standard
Step 3: Buy Westfalia in Arizona.Preferably 1970's version with rounded front. Color does not matter as I will be painting it anyway. Why Arizona ? No rust. Arizona in the world of westfalia purchasing is like time travel. Arizona = adventure. Cost of Westfalia $2000 US.
Step 4: Fly to Arizona with a car knowledgable, perferably surf oriented friend who also agrees with roadtrip iternary. Cost of flight $300-$400 range.
Step 5: Start Roadtrip to Mexico then onwards into South America. Spend all cash and energy. See the world, experience life and enjoy some of the best waves known to man.
Step 6: Either A) Find Surf Mecca in Peru and never return. Live a simple surf life in a commune. Be healthy, happy and fit.
or B) Travel Up the West Coast of America stopping at every Surf destination back to the humble island and pretend to assmilate back into society though always will be remove from people due to the natural incredible expreiences conceived on said roadtrip.
Noah is a very good teacher for standard driving.
ReplyDeleteI want to come live in Peru, but I will not surf. I'll become a novelist in Hemingway style (read: drunk near the ocean with a typewriter) and maybe you shall inspire my fictional heroine. Also I can drive standard for when you get tired.
South America is a mess,Kimmy darling read the papers.This type of comments induce insomnia to your mother.Go to Spain,connect with your childhood,or UK,great surfing etc,or all Europe.Take your friends,Hemingway,most INTENSE novel,Fiesta was written in Spain,well partly ,but who counts...
