I can't help but I ask myself why Charlize, Billy Bob and Swayze would be in that movie.
Swayze is the King of Cheese on any given day. The world is seperated into Swayze haters and lovers. Damn it I am lover. HAVE YOU SEEN HIM DANCE !! I encourage hot male dancing especially since I have seen sooo very little of it in my time on the dance floor.
Good old Billy Bob is a good actor. Ok I admit he is great at the same roles:Dirty old man, Sleazy old man, Racist old man etc.. Its his niche and he is the the king of that castle or perhaps the dirty old rascal.
But Mrs. Theron !!! You are usually pretty good in movies or least you choose roles that advocate your issue of the week like: why society won't let you play a fat woman, or why you are not allowed to work on oil rig in Alaska and not get molested. All worthy causes but Waking Up in Reno makes you look like a hypocrite.
A. Your skinny in it.
B. You are doing everyone while not working on oil rig... Hell I dont even think your character has job in that movie.

Then when I couldn't be more confused Penelope Cruz shows up as a Hooker in a sleazy bar Reno. As if Penelope wouldn't make it to the Bunny Ranch at least.Jeeez. She looks very sexy in it as always but it offended me when they kept referring to her as Puerto Rican. At one point Billy Bob's character says "they" are taking over the damn country. PUERTO RICANS?!?!?!? I am sure you meant Mexicans either way she is Spanish the original version. I know she is playing a character but it was ethnic type casting. I was sure she was over that hump in her career.
In order to go to sleep tonight I am going to pretend there was a greater meaning to that movie. It was a commentary on the rampant ignorance of southern americans or the decaying of the american dream due to sloth like behaviour and under education Or perhaps it was a societal experiment to see what lengths good actors would go to in order to get a great paycheck.
Why did I feel the need to watch this movie ?
