My loyal blog followers my remember when I had a rant about how Surfline teamed up with Apple and created a Iphone app where you program your ideal surf specifications and your phone acts as an a alarm to when your dream surf is breaking. This allows you to quit your job, ditch your friends and high tail it to the surf ASAP. Also would be the only reason I would get a phone ever. I wouldn't even give people the number it would just be a Surf Alarm.
Well I thought that was a good idea.
Now I just went to their site and they have teamed up with Google Earth to give prime satelittle images of the surf hitting right now.
It is a different image than Google map. Damn it I am impressed.
Here are the Tofino Breaks .
Wow if you press reset map you can see all the Surf Breaks around the word.
Crazy.
Okay I am planning my future trip, definately hitting up Peru.
Punta Huanchaco
-Famous for its fishermen who fish and ride waves with their pointy nosed rafts made of reeds (dating back to 2400 B.C., this is said to be the earliest form of surfing), Punta Huanchaco is also famous for its long left point, which, like Chicama, is not gnarly or hollow, so surfers of all creeds can enjoy themselves. The wave can be a bit section-y, but on bigger days you can connect from behind the point to all the way past the pier. Its proximity to Trujillo makes it a popular surf hangout for locals.
